15th August Shayari Speech Essays Poems 68th Independence Day

  • Where the mind is without fear
    and the head is held high;
    Where knowledge is free;
    Where the world has not been
    broken up into fragments by
    narrow domestic walls;
    Where words come out from
    the depth of truth;
    Where tireless striving stretches
    its arms towards perfection;
    Where the clear stream of reason
    has not lost its way into the dreary
    desert sand of dead habit;
    Where the mind is lead forward by thee
    into ever-widening thought and action-
    Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
    let my country awake.”
    “Geetanjali”
    - Rabindranath Tagore
  • “Is there ought you need that my hands withhold, Rich gifts of raiment or grain or gold? Lo ! I have flung to the East and the West Priceless treasures torn from my breast, And yielded the sons of my stricken womb To the drum-beats of the duty, the sabers of doom…..” The Gift of India – Sarojini Naidu
  • “Better than Heaven or Arcadia
    I love thee, O my India!
    And thy love I shall give
    To every brother nation that lives.
    God made the Earth;
    Man made confining countries
    And their fancy-frozen boundaries…”
    Swami Yogananda Paramhansa
  • Vande Mataram “Mother, I bow to thee! Rich with thy hurrying streams, Bright with thy orchard gleams, Cool with thy winds of delight, Dark fields waving, Mother of might, Mother free…..” Original Poem written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in Bengali Translated by Sri Aurobindo
  • How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master’s bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. Mahatma Gandhi

    This is the time of Indian independence day celebration. Almost all of the events in the Indepenedence day can’t go without a speech on India’s struggle to make the country Indpendence from the British. We are providing herewith an Independence day speech. This speech can be used by students to present a very good speech on India’s Independence day on August 15. These August 15 speeches are of great importance as through this Independence day speech we are saluting our country.
    Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we will redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance…. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.
    India got its independence from the clutches of British rule on 15th August 1947. Every year, August 15 is celebrated as the Independence Day in India. This national festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. It was this day when India’s tricolor flag was unfolded by Pandit Nehru on the barricades of the Red Fort at Delhi. Each and every patriotic soul watched with excitement and paid tribute to thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom.
